Naked Butter: A Package Redesign Experiment
Naked Butter plays with redesigning a special edition of the Land'Olakes package. Exploring how visual metaphors can facilitate choice and product finding in a grocery aisle, as well as start a simpler and more personal conversation with customers. Undressing a food item might recall a possible memory of it: sticks of butter. Would exposing the color of a food item make it more appealing to consumers? Would it make it easier to spot on a shelf? Do people think of the color of a food as they’re searching for it in the grocery isle? The intention is to create a cozy and home-like experience right in the middle of the grocery store similar to the experience of opening our own refrigerator and pick up a stick of butter before start cooking.
